Your tasks

• Strategic Procurement: You are responsible for product group strategies for materials, energy, freight, services, and merchandise. This includes market, price, and supplier analyses, which you use to identify and consistently realize cost-saving opportunities
• Negotiations and Contracts: You will independently conduct negotiations on prices, terms, and contracts with national and international suppliers. In doing so, you will establish and further develop strategic supplier relationships, including requirements related to quality, sustainability, and delivery times
• Project and Investment Procurement: You will independently procure equipment, construction services, and specialized services for our projects—from the bidding process through bid evaluation and cost-benefit analyses to contract award. In doing so, you’ll work closely with project management, engineering, and maintenance
• Processes and ERP: You will design our purchasing processes—from requisition to invoice verification—optimize them, and map them in SAP S/4HANA (MM) in collaboration with all relevant departments. Your responsibilities also include maintaining an accurate database of supplier, material, and contract master data
• Day-to-Day Operations: You process purchase requisitions, place orders, monitor delivery dates, and resolve discrepancies through the invoice verification process. You’ll ensure that materials arrive on time and that production runs smoothly. This is where you’ll really see whether your processes work in practice
• Control and Risk Management: You will further develop procurement KPIs and reporting, contribute to budget and cost planning, and be responsible for compliance and ESG issues in the supply chain. In addition, you’ll ensure our supply through contingency and emergency plans and assist with grant applications
• Collaboration: In your day-to-day work, you'll collaborate across departments with Production, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, Work Planning, Maintenance, Financial Accounting, and Sales

That's what you bring

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering, or a comparable qualification with substantial practical experience
• Several years of experience in purchasing and procurement at a manufacturing company. You have gained insight into purchasing from multiple perspectives: operational, strategic, or project-based
• Proven experience in negotiating complex contracts and price discussions
• Experience with on-site supplier audits and a willingness to travel for work
• Experience in designing procurement processes and mapping them in an ERP system, ideally SAP (MM)
• Proficiency in working with key performance indicators, reporting, and data analysis
• Fluency in German and English
• A passion for procurement, a desire to take on responsibility as an expert, and an entrepreneurial mindset
• A hands-on approach: You’re not above handling operational tasks, consistently implement tasks, and see them through to completion
